F&F

I first saw Family & Friends at Athfest music festival this past summer. Since then, I have already seen them two more times. This band not only makes great music, but the stage presence and chemistry between them all on stage is something kind of magical. Every time I have seen them perform, their energy is contagious. You cannot help but dance, clap, and sing along. And experiencing F&F at the Georgia Theatre last week made the experience that much better. At the end of the show, one of the drummers walked onto the audience and finished the closing song in the middle of the crowed. I can't wait to see what they bring to stage next time. There's nothing like some good arm candy to liven up an outfit, and I have found the most perfect addition to any look: Marrin Costello's Baby B Matte Black bracelets. I love how they have the ability to add character to any outfit with the band of spikes and classic color. Honestly, these bracelets are just cool. They would go great with a vintage band tee, cut offs, and combats, or a flowy patterned dress and some wedges. So versatile. And although with bracelets it's fun to make a statement with loud, original pieces, I'm still a girl of basics. Some classic gold midi rings can never hurt an outfit. In fact, they're almost guaranteed to enhance it. Marrin Costello's MIDI Gold rings are great little treasures to have on hand… literally. I know that when in doubt, I can throw on one, two, or all five of those bands to spice things up. Mix these pieces in with some of my grandmother's old antique jewels, and you've got the perfect setting for an arm party.

DR Round 4

If you know me, you know just how big a part of my life mission trips are. I honestly cannot describe the love I feel for the country of the Dominican Republic and its people. It can only be explained as a passion given by God. This summer's trip was nothing short of amazing. When I am in the DR, or any foreign country for that matter, I try to be cognizant of where I am. I try to take in everything at every moment. The vibrance of the red flowers adorning trees in all directions, the sound of laughs coming from every little mouth around me, the smell of sancocho cooking in a nearby kitchen, and taste of salt water from the most amazing oceans you'll ever see. I love going to La Rinconda and playing with the kids. I love supporting local women looking for work by buying their amazing cinnamon rolls from the bakery down the street. I love building relationships with the people down there that I know will forever be apart of my heart. I am so thankful and so blessed to have these experiences in the DR and let these amazing people and their culture into my life. Tell Em What It Is

I've probably replayed this night in my head one time too many. Back in May just before Summer officially started, Lana Del Rey visited the Atl at the Tabernacle one Thursday evening. What a show. She was opened by the super hot and super tatted Jimmy Gnecco. The crowd was loud, sweaty, and packed. Although I literally couldn't move my arms and could barely breathe as we stood our ground towards the front of the stage, it was all worth it. Lana has such a graceful stage presence- she just floats. And she truly interacts with the crowd… like literally talks to people from the stage. Although I had just seen her a couple weeks before at Coachella, this show was still special as she made it her own. And a lot more personable… And by that I mean we actually talked to her after the show and got some pictures and signatures. It was an unreal experience, but Lana for one was anything but unreal. She is such a genuine person, and that was evident as my girls and I chatted with her about nail color and where she buys her clothes. This night only made me love the Queen of Saigon even more.
